We welcome medical students to gain experience of anaesthesia at RLH.

If you are to start a placement in anaesthesia at RLH, please come to the anaesthetic department on the 4th floor of the north tower, in time to meet us at 0800 in office 5, the anaesthetic trainees' office.

The theatre reception office is just outside lift core 4, and you can get into the anaesthetic department from there.

Normally you would need to change into scrubs to go into theatres, but you won't need to this time if you are heading out again straight away - I understand you will need to go back out to the education centre for another induction after which you will be able to come back to us and meet your mentor team at about lunchtime.

You will be with us for 2 weeks and you will start your attachment with the mentors detailed in the table below.

Please do be on time as it is hard to redo the introductions if you arrive late. Please also be aware that you need to attend at least 9/10 days to pass the module.

We can give you more information about what to expect, and answer questions, when you arrive.

If you need to get in contact with us, for example to let us know that you are ill, please email your supervisor (you can get their contact details when you meet them) with copies to toby.reynolds@nhs.net and duncan.mitchell@nhs.net

If you can't find the anaesthetic department, or you need to get a message to someone in the department, please call the departmental administrators on 02035941328

The senior anaesthetic trainee, holding the 1220 bleep, can be called on extension 45803, but they are often busy with clinical work.
